Yue Yun

    Yue Yun,son of the famous Southern Song dynasty general Yue Fei, practiced martial art since childhood, and showed his extraordinary courage and exceptional martial skill at the age of 13. Since then, the young Yue Yun left his warm home, went to the battlefield entirely alone, joining the army followed his father.

    Ten years honed in the battleground, Yue Yun had grown up, and become heroic and skilful in battle, and had powerful combat strength that strikes terror into the hearts of the enemy. But, it was at the critical period that recovered the central plains was just around the corner, the royal court issued 12 unexpected golden medals to order Yue’s Army back to the dynasty from the battlefield. Instantly, decade long efforts were destroyed totally. 

    Joined the army since childhood, ten years military career in the battlefield, Yue Yun sacrificed his life heroically followed his father, died at a very young age of 23.

What showed in this drama is his regretless youth, his heroic life. 

    Musical Yue Yun has promoted the patriotic spirit of serving the country with supreme loyalty. It incorporates diversified artistic forms to tell the great historical story three-dimensionally.

    Combining historical story, original music, beautiful dances, folk art, martial art and wonderful lines into the whole work, Musical Yue Yun presents a splendid and magnificent panorama of the history.

    This drama used to be created and performed firstly by China National Theatre for Children in the year 1961, which had been watched by Comrade Deng Yingchao, wife of Premiere Zhou, who spoke highly of the show. In 1980, the play Yue Yun was recreated and performed again, the second version was also warmly welcomed by the audience. This time, the work was reproduced by CNTC in a completely new musical form, aimed at inheriting the classic drama to modern children in an acceptable way, helping them to learn more about China ancient history and to create ambition and build dream from childhood, promoting a better understanding of “China Dream”, thus to deliver positive energy to all of the children.
